12 months passed since the amputation. And a year has passed since I started this blog.
This is how the thumb and nail looks after 1 year.
I’ve been to a very advanced institute, specializing in sport trauma. I showed them my finger stump, voiced my concerns and wish it to get default length.
It was the first time since amputation when somebody actually heard me. The doctor said that aesthetic concerns are enough to cause psychological problems, and psychological problems are solid enough ground for surgery.
Well, that and that I opted to pay cash instead of poking my insurance company.
They don’t offer miracles, but they said they will restore the bone and this should also enlarge the flesh on the thumb.
Surgery is scheduled for next month. We’ll see what’s it worth quite soon.
