Month 14: Postoperative Edema Posted by getdefault on March 3, 2013 Posted in: Medical History. Tagged: Get Default, Story. Leave a Comment So, I had my high-tech surgery, and my poor thumb is now recovering from it. As you can see, the metal pins are still inside, holding my bone pieces together until they reconnect. The thumb is very swollen. I can’t say it hurts, but there is constant towing pain, which I seen to get used to over this months and don’t really notice. The skin peels really bad, and cuts are very sensitive. The thumb is somewhat bigger now, but not as it used to be. The shape is also very weird.
